Business Support roles play a critical part in maintaining our operations and allow the organisation to deliver the highest quality service to our clients. Whether you are a fee earner or provide high quality support to the business, everyone is equally respected and contributes to the success of the business. We have a number of teams who support the organisation in one way or another. They are a key support system for all employees, clients and visitors.
We have a facilities team who support everything from the office décor to the maintenance of the offices. The facilities team are responsible for the security, maintenance and services of work facilities to ensure that they meet the needs of the organisation and its employees. This is a diverse field with a range of responsibilities; the team is involved in both strategic planning and day-to-day operations, particularly in relation to buildings and premises.
Our Business Support employees form an integral part of our organisation providing high quality operational support to the company. Roles vary from administration assistants through to senior assistants, offering a range of high level support covering various activities such as diary management and assessment co-ordination, client liaison, the financial cycle, research and the production of presentations and proposals with the overall objective of supporting our employees in their development of new business and project delivery.
All roles require strong organisational and communication skills giving individuals not only the opportunity to become involved in a number of projects but enabling them to develop key personal skills. These are good entry level roles into Unum with opportunities to move into other areas of the business if you want to.
Our Business Support teams
We support the day to day running of the reception; we also cover the post room and provide administration support to the Facilities Team. We implement and maintain administrative systems, procedures and policies and assist with the Fleet administration and records.
We are in charge of the provision of professional facilities management services in support of the business at Unum, in line with corporate strategy, policies and procedures and current best practice.
We provide administrative and secretarial support to the leadership members by dealing with as much of the routine activity as possible to enable them to focus on overall business activity.

Ian. Facilities Manager
The main attraction of working at Milton Court is the variety of interesting challenges presented by the 70 acre site and mix of buildings, technology and landscapes. There are not many sites that include a 16th century Jacobean Mansion, office blocks, lakes and farmland! This year we expect to undertake restoration work on the mansion, complete a large heating and ventilation upgrade and re-model the banks of the upper lake, not to mention the day to day running of the site. Unum is a great place to work and a business that cares about its customers and employees.
